TOUR RECAP

Glaciers and Fiords
(November 2024)
Recap and video by Daniel Murray
Never ever does it cease to amaze me how quickly time flies by. In what seemed like a blink of an eye, one year passed, and Josh and I were off again to run another “Glaciers and Fiords” tour around the South Island. See last year’s recap here.
In the days leading up to the tour, Josh and I went for a 4-day hike around the Caples-Greenstone Circuit (watch video here). The weather was rather miserable at times, and so when we exited the track we wondered what the tour would have in store for us.
We needn’t have worried, as for the next 11 days we had the best contiguous run of photography conditions I think I’ve ever experienced. Epic sunrises and sunsets, amazing skies, and wonderful colours filled our days. Sure, we had some rain and stormy weather at times, but somehow we ended up at the right place at the right time and made the most of every opportunity given to us.
Probably not much more to say than to watch this video, containing some truly remarkable footage from some of my favourite places. A huge thanks to all the photographers from this tour, who contributed their images to the video.
